About the Southern Oracle

My Story

Hello, my name is Megan, and welcome to the Southern Oracle.

My mother recently reminded me that spiritual practice has been part of my life since before I was born. My grandmother—an intuitive psychic medium, channel, and tarot reader—ran a Psychic Center in the East Bay throughout the 1990s. In the late ’80s, both she and my mother, a practicing Wiccan and empath, studied at the Berkeley Psychic Institute, where they communicated with my spirit before I was even born.

Growing up in my grandmother’s Psychic Center was nothing short of magical. My childhood was filled with the sweet perfume of incense, sage, and palo santo. Crystals adorned every surface, while Native American flute music played softly in the background. Shelves overflowed with books on esoteric knowledge, New Age philosophy, astrology, and divination in all its forms. The center was a hub for mystics, astrologers, Reiki healers, seers, and lightworkers—and I was immersed in their wisdom from an incredibly young age.

By the time I was two years old, I was already meditating, performing energy healings, and seeing auras. I have vivid memories of offering energetic healings during my grandmother’s spiritual classes when I was just two or three. In the early ’90s, I attended a psychic preschool in Berkeley called Yin-Yang, where I learned meditation, grounding techniques, and how to read auras.

My journey with Tarot began at age twelve, in 2001, when my grandmother gifted me my first deck—the Aleister Crowley and Frieda Harris Thoth Tarot, which I still use to this day. What began as a playful curiosity quickly revealed itself to be something far more powerful. As I practiced and witnessed the accuracy of the messages I received, it became clear that Tarot was a profound tool for insight and transformation.

Throughout college, I balanced studies in acting and psychology with a growing devotion to Tarot. I began reading for friends, then clients, eventually gaining a reputation for offering meaningful, grounded guidance. Although I enjoyed a successful career in the arts—including acting, modeling, and immersive theater—I felt a persistent sense that something essential was missing.

In 2008, I experienced a spiritual awakening that deepened my understanding of my intuitive gifts and set me on a path of more intentional study and practice. By 2015, I began reading professionally, offering Tarot services at private parties, corporate events, weddings, and one-on-one sessions. During my Saturn return in 2016—a profound period of transformation—I came to understand my soul’s purpose: to help others find clarity, healing, and connection.

Through these experiences, I’ve witnessed Tarot unravel mysteries, bring catharsis to troubled souls, and illuminate truths that were previously out of reach. I’ve seen clarity dawn across clients’ faces as they recognize something essential about themselves or their circumstances. Tarot mirrors our psychological states and universal archetypes of human experience—yet the way the cards fall feels divinely guided. The odds of drawing the same card twice in a one-card pull are just 1 in 78, or roughly 1.3%. Every full reading, then, is entirely unique—like a snowflake.
